U.S. Representative Mo Brooks (Rep. AL) took on MSNBC news anchor Contessa Brewer today. This is priceless.

Brewer was trying to explain to Rep. Brooks that we would be in a “depression” if not for salvational force of the bailouts! This, predictably so, led Rep. Brooks to disagree. Brewer stopped her vital educational lecture to brazenly ask the Representative if he had a degree in economics. (Because, you know, if he didn’t, he would be obviously less qualified to hold an opinion than a news anchor.)
Mo Brooks unexpected response, “Yes ma’am, I do. Highest honors.” According to Brooks’ Congressional biography he, “graduated from Duke University in three years with a double major in political science and economics, with highest honors in economics. In 1978, he graduated from the University of Alabama Law School.”
Sometimes we just have to realize that a U.S. Representative with an economics, political science and law degree might — just might — know more than a random MSNBC news anchor.
